Overview

We
are recruiting for our client, the Department of National Defence, for
Programmer Analysts to work on
software applications to support the operations
of the Department.

Overview/Requirement:

Following
is an overview of deliverables:

·
select and incorporate
available software programs;

·
design detailed programs, flow
charts, and diagrams indicating mathematical computation and

·
sequence of machine operations
necessary to copy and process data and print the results;

·
translate detailed flow charts
into coded machine instructions and confer with technical personnel in planning
programs;

·
verify accuracy and
completeness of programs by preparing sample data, and testing them by means of
system acceptance test runs made by operating personnel;

·
correct program errors by
revising instructions or altering the sequence of operations;

·
test instructions, and assemble
specifications, flow charts, diagrams, layouts, programming and operating
instructions to document applications for later modification or reference;

·
create and modify code and
software;

·
create and modify screens and
reports;

·
design methods and procedures
for small computer systems, and sub-system of larger systems;

·
produce forms, manuals,
programs, data files, and procedures for systems and/or applications; and

·
perform any other Work related
to this category.

Technical Criteria:

·
Demonstrated experience or education with one of the following
languages: ADA, Java, C#, C++

Education:

·
Must have: University degree or College
Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Development or similar
discipline

Lived
Experience:

·
Indigenous lived experience is
an integral part of this position. The role will have a close
relationship with the Indigenous Community in Canada and for Government of
Canada positions that are part of the PSIB-Procurement Strategy for Indigenous
Business or IPP-Indigenous Participation Plans. Candidates will be required to
have Indigenous lived experience from Canada’s Indigenous community to perform
the role.

are ‘Train to Hire’ positions and we are seeking candidates who have graduated
from either college or university (any discipline) and who have an interest in
