An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Programme Manager to join the Naval Programme team as a Programme Manager. You will be joining the programme as we grow, both in new engine deliveries and in our customer support for our global customers. In this role you will be able to make a difference by driving and supporting the overall Naval Programme to ensure world class planning and programme execution.

What you will be doing:

  • Support the VP Naval to develop the programme integrated plan that delivers the in year and 5-year plan – customer and financial outcomes with defined focus, projects, and activities
  • Support the overall UK&I mature programmes portfolio balance, prioritisation, and impact process –
  • Make portfolio recommendations to optimise outcomes, with full transparency of consequences for projects that are deprioritised
  • Ensure benefits are captured accurately and consistently to enable resources to be prioritised on the projects that create the most value, reduce the most risk or provide strategic leverage for the future.
  • Own the Naval Programme management plan, Programme governance and reporting, including risk
  • Monitoring portfolio progress and support the resolution of issues, through timely interventions, that would otherwise compromise delivery and benefits realisation.
  • Overall flow governance and bottleneck identification / action
  • Programme overview - Project and flow performance status, health and metrics – supporting with defining interventions needed
  • Consistently looking / driving and addressing our constraints
  • Lead the Quarterly planning process
  • Programme Reporting - Facilitate creation and presentation of governance packs and insight reports, iteratively improving based on DLT/SVP feedback.
  • Collaborate across UK&I Mature Programmes and with the Defence PMO to ensure consistency across all programmes, flow and projects
  • Lead and or manage Naval programmes / projects / activities / interventions as needed

Position qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in driving operational and/or contract performance
  • Strong skills in programme management, planning & coordinating complex programmes
  • Project management skills, with experience of delivering complex projects to time, cost and quality

Preferred requirements:

  • Financial management including long term contract reviews, business evaluations and contract reporting
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement
