We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Plymouth to assist with the appointment of a Programme Manager, on a 11-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £528.60 - £699.00 per day

Plymouth City Council is seeking an experienced and driven Programme Manager to lead delivery of the Family Homes for Plymouth Children Programme — a flagship transformation programme within Children's Services focused on improving outcomes for children and families while reshaping how support and care services are delivered across the city.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a strong change manager with significant Children's Services experience and the ability to lead complex transformation programmes across multi-agency environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate multiple programme workstreams across Children's Services
  • Drive system-wide transformation to improve outcomes for children and families
  • Work closely with Service Directors, Strategic Directors, Councillors, and senior stakeholders
  • Ensure delivery of programme objectives, milestones, and benefits
  • Support redesign of services relating to crisis support, fostering, and residential care

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience within Children's Services
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation programmes in complex organisations
  • Strong programme and stakeholder management experience
  • Experience working with senior leadership teams and elected members
  • Ability to drive operational change and deliver measurable outcomes

  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
