Organizational Context and Scope

Under overall supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator and the direct supervision of the national programme officer(s) and senior programme associate(s) under IBG Unit, the incumbents will be responsible for supporting and assisting the achievement of the objective and results of the IBG Unit as well as successful day to day implementation of the unit projects’ activities.

  1. Assist and contribute to the IBG Unit in implementing projects activities.

  2. Support implementation of activities of the project in close collaboration with the relevant units of the stakeholder agencies, assist day to day activities and administrative processes; relevant activities, report regularly on the challenges and progress recorded in realization of activities.

  3. Carry out operational, administrative, and logistical processes of the projects and activities in accordance with IOM rules and regulations.

  4. Assist with the planning, organization and logistical arrangement of conferences, seminars, trainings and workshops as relevant.

  5. Prepare analytical notes of meetings, draft research reports, briefing notes, policy papers, and other materials as required.

  6. Support in preparation of concept notes, project proposals and other documentation under IBG Unit.

  7. Regularly research, follow-up, compile, analyze and share information/data on national, regional and international developments, reports, legislation and other relevant documentation on migration management relevant to the work of the Unit.

  8. Monitor project activities; update the project plan if necessary.

  9. Carry out informal translation of high-level correspondences and project related documents, reports if requested by the supervisor or PMM staff.

  10. Create and maintain physical and electronic project-related files.

  11. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social and/or Political Science, International Relations, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience

  • Proven knowledge on relevant national/international policies is an asset;

  • Proven experience in project management particularly in matters related migration management;

  • Training on project development and management is asset,

  • Being able to travel,

  • Good familiarity with diplomatic environment

  • Proven analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Good level of computer literacy.

  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, other national / international institutions

  • Experience working in the region an advantage.

  • Experience in writing papers, briefings, articles.

Languages

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).

For this position, fluency in English and Turkish is required (oral and written).

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
