-Habilidad para trabajar con los requerimientos de ingeniería, interpretación de dibujos/planos de herramientas/moldes y dominio de sistema de tolerancia. Producción de partes con las tolerancias marcadas por el plano y también la de accesorios para soporte a producción de moldeo por inyección.
-Revisar planos de diseño CAD en 3D y 2D.

Hacer cálculos para la programación, incluido dónde se deben cortar los materiales.
-Convertir las instrucciones en un programa de fabricación automatizada por computadora (CAM).
-Verificar los programas completados ejecutando simulaciones o pruebas.
-Determinar la secuencia de operaciones en un programa.
-Elegir las herramientas de corte necesarias.
-Escribir programas y modificar los existentes para aumentar la eficiencia.
-Analizar y seleccionar velocidades y herramientas de corte para programas.
-Reducir el tiempo de las herramientas para los trabajadores y aumentar la productividad para el cliente.
-Supervisar todos los programas para asegurarse que siguen las instrucciones del plan y completan la tarea de manera segura y exitosa.
-Cumplir con todas las normas y reglamentos de seguridad.
-Es el encargado de la operación/uso de las herramientas para la manufactura y reparación de moldes/equipos, así como todo el equipo del taller: Fresadora; torno; rectificadora plana; EDM; soldadoras y los dispositivos de inspección.
