About the opportunity:
Youth residential recovery (YRR) services provide voluntary residential recovery-based support to young people 16–25 years of age experiencing mental health challenges. The aim of the YRR is to support young people to achieve their recovery goals through one-on-one collaboration and participation in program activities for up to 12 months. These may include:
Learning or relearning skills and gaining the confidence required for independent living
Building capacity to better manage their mental health
Developing social relationships, social connections, recreation, physical health, education, vocational training, employment and housing, and other needs
About the role:
As an integral member of the Youth Residential Recovery team, you will draw upon your knowledge and work experience to support young people to develop skills and confidence to improve their well-being and connections within the community. You will utilize outcome measures to work collaboratively with participants to identify goals and plans for the future, as well as delivering program activities developed to support wellbeing and build capacity You will be passionate about working with young people and able to provide an understanding, flexible and creative approach
Under the support and direction of the Team Leader, this role forms part of the Barwon team and works with other key stakeholders in the ongoing development and effective implementation of regional and program plans.
Availability:
This casual role is to provide support to the 24hr/7day roster, backfilling to leave and unavailability of permanent staff. Please note, the majority of vacant shifts required will be sleepover.
Shifts included:
Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm, 12:00pm - 8:00pm, 6:00pm-10:00pm (with non-active sleepover 10:00pm-6am).
Saturday & Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm, 6:00pm-10:00pm (with non-active sleepover 10:00pm-6am).

You will also need:
Diploma or above in the field of study, Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work, AoD and/or experience in similar related field.
Current valid Driver’s License and the ability to undertake some travel
Appropriate IT skills
Satisfactory Police Records Check

Right to Work within Australia
NDIS Workers Screening check
NDIS Module certificate

Wellways Australia is a leading national mental health and disability support organisation with services in Queensland, ACT, NSW, Victoria and Tasmania.
We work with a diverse range of people, their families and carers to identify needs and goals to build good lives in the community This includes creating a home, getting a job and building meaningful relationships.
