Location – Thomas Embling Hospital, Fairfield
Work Type - Full Time ongoing
Classification - Mental Health Officer Grade 2 (MHO2)
Pay Grade Range - $67,724 to $73,595 plus super and salary packaging

Program Support Worker
At Forensicare, Victoria's specialist provider of forensic mental health services, we support people with serious mental illness who are connected to, or at risk of contact with, the justice system. Our recovery-focused services are delivered across inpatient, community and secure settings throughout Victoria.

We are seeking a Program Support Worker to join the Hospital Directorate at Thomas Embling Hospital. In this rewarding role, you will support the delivery, coordination and administration of evidence-based therapeutic programs that contribute to patient recovery, skill development and community reintegration.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will help ensure programs are accessible, engaging and delivered effectively while building positive therapeutic relationships with patients.

About the Role
Reporting to the Program Support Coordinator, you will:
• Support the planning, scheduling and delivery of therapeutic programs and activities.
• Assist patients to participate in group-based therapeutic programs and activities.
• Develop and maintain program timetables, promotional materials and databases.
• Record attendance, coordinate assessments and assist with program evaluation activities.
• Liaise with clinical teams regarding program availability and patient participation.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to continuity of care.
• Participate in training, supervision and ongoing professional development.
• Provide safe, person-centred support aligned with recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice.

About You
You will bring:
• A demonstrated commitment to recovery-oriented mental health practice.
• Completion or partial completion of a relevant qualification in mental health, disability support, allied health assistance, welfare or a related field, or a willingness to undertake further study.
• Experience performing administrative tasks including scheduling, document preparation and database management.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with consumers and colleagues.
• Confidence working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint.
