The Program Specialist II, under general supervision, performs specialist duties for the Summer Music Program. This position is a temporary summer position. The estimated time frame for this position is July 6, 2026 - August 31, 2026.

The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Marching Storm show design and selection.
  • Preside over band and ensemble rehearsals.
  • Work with musicians one-on-one, as necessary, to facilitate growth in their musical area, arranging music for the Marching Storm and other ensembles.
  • Provide overall oversight and direction for members of the Marching Storm during rehearsals and performances; serving as area coordinator for the instrumental area, as applicable (high brass, low brass, Woodwind, and Percussion).
  • Teach music to cohort assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of six years of experience.
