The Program Specialist I assumes the primary caretaker role for inpatient, psychiatric patients ages pre-K through adolescents. This includes supporting them in activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and the management of harmful behaviors. The Program Specialist I also participates in crisis intervention, teaching, group process and will be on call as needed.
Education:
High school Diploma
Experience in inpatient or partial hospital psychiatric treatment preferred
Pediatric experience preferred
Certification/Licensure:
CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date
If hired at CSC- Heartsaver CPR and CSC SCM training must be completed within 60 days of start date
NOTE: Cook Children's can help new hires obtain the above licensure/certifications but they still MUST be obtained within 60 days of start date.
