Job Description

The Materials Management Program Representative supports supply chain activities associated with all active classes of US submarines to support production, testing and program execution. This role serves as a key liaison between EB Program Offices, Ships Management, Operations, Contracts, Planning Departments, Finance, Design, Engineering, Purchasing, Planning Yard, various Quality Departments, Government Agencies, Newport News Ship Building, and EB Off-Site Departments to ensure material availability, resolve shortages, and communicate risks that may impact schedule performance.The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently, prioritize competing demands, and proactively drive issues to resolution.

*This position is on site in our Groton, CT facility. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage material requirements to support production and program schedules.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve material shortages and supply chain constraints.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Planning, Engineering, Operations, and Key stakeholders to ensure timely material availability.
  • Communicate material status, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support inventory management activities and maintain data accuracy within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Track critical material performance metrics and provide status updates to management.
  • Participate in program reviews and cross-functional meetings.
  • Escalate issues appropriately while driving accountability and follow-through.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule adherence and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in the development of new processes/projects and updating procedures accordingly.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or 2+ years equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, materials management, project management, manufacturing, or operations.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and material planning processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP II systems.

Preferred:

  • 5+ years equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or defense-related programs.
  • ARTEMIS, Construction/Design, MRP II, EWP/PCM, ORACLE or TEAMCENTER experience.
