Department Summary
UNT ELEVAR (Empower, Learn, Excel, enVision, Advance, Rise) is a four-year postsecondary education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Following the definition of the program’s name, ELEVAR [lift, soar, rise, in Spanish], the program’s vision is to empower young adults with IDD who wish to continue postsecondary education (PSE) to become self-determined, independent, and healthy adults readied for integrated competitive employment. Most importantly, the UNT ELEVAR program welcomes young adults with IDD to be part of the Mean Green family experience. UNT ELEVAR has been approved as a Comprehensive Transition Program through the U.S. Department of Education accreditation.
The UNT ELEVAR Prog Proj Coord plays a central role in advancing student success, with a focus on academic progress, career dev, campus engagement, and continuous program improvement. They support students w/intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) as they navigate academic expectations, build career readiness skills, and participate in the UNT community. They work closely with faculty, campus partners, families, and community
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

* Strong problem-solving skills
* Ability to use a variety of complex computer applications
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of populations both verbally and in writing
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships

* Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate)
