Program Officer

• Join the Office of the 24 Hour Economy Commissioner, a division of the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport
• Clerk Grade 7/8 with a salary range of $116,981 - $129,492 per annum plus superannuation
• Temporary role (up to 30 June 2027) based in Sydney CBD

About the role

This role supports the delivery of the Purple Flag program, an internationally recognised accreditation program that celebrates precincts achieving high standards in managing safe, diverse and vibrant night-time economies. As part of the NSW Government's commitment to strengthening 24-hour economy centres, you'll provide project, program and grant coordination. This includes preparing project documentation, coordinating activities, supporting procurement processes, monitoring project plans and assisting with reporting to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with established project management practices.

Working closely with local councils, grant recipients, industry partners and other stakeholders, you'll coordinate meetings, workshops and consultation activities while building strong working relationships to support successful program delivery. You'll also undertake research and analysis, prepare briefs and presentations, contribute to program evaluation and identify opportunities to improve future initiatives. This is a varied role where you'll help manage enquiries, resolve issues and provide the coordination needed to keep projects and the Purple Flag program running smoothly.

About You

You are organised and proactive with experience in project management, grants coordination or program delivery. You can manage competing priorities, keep track of multiple pieces of work and maintain accurate documentation, even when working to tight deadlines. Experience supporting the administration or coordination of grant programs, including working with funding recipients and managing grant processes, will help you succeed in this role. You're comfortable preparing briefs, reports and presentations, coordinating meetings and events, and supporting procurement and other project activities to help keep projects on track.

You build positive working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners, and communicate clearly with a wide range of people. You're confident researching and analysing information, identifying risks or emerging issues, and helping to develop practical solutions. With strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach, you deliver quality work, contribute to continuous improvement and support the successful delivery of project outcomes.
