Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Program Monitor will be responsible for overseeing general, non-instructional sports programs, such as soccer, ultimate frisbee. Duties may include monitoring participants on each field, ensuring participants are wearing wrist bands, provide first aid if needed and regulating rotation of participants into the activity. Participants may range in age from teens to older adults.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee a non- instructional sport activity and ensure fair and proper rotation of participants
  • Communicate and interact with participants and make everyone feel welcome
  • Report to work in sufficient time to ensure the program is ready to start on time
  • Supervise all aspects of the program including participants and volunteers.
  • Ensure the safety of participants, facilities and equipment at all times.
  • Wear assigned uniform/name tag
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and training sessions prior to, during and outside regularprogramming hours.
  • Maintain excellent public relations at all times.
  • Maintain good communication with staff and volunteers, facility users, and the ProgramCoordinator.
  • Understand and implement the policies and procedures of the Facility(s), and of the CommunityServices Department.
  • Represent the City of Richmond Hill in a cooperative, organized, enthusiastic and well-groomedmanner.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule when required, including evenings and/or weekends
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Intermediate First Aid with CPR C and AED (formerly known as Standard First Aid and CPR C)
  • Other corporate training requirements upon hire

  • Experience working with the defined age group
  • Experience in general sport recreation and understanding the basic rules of the activity being monitored
