About the Role:

The Product & TechnologyGroup(PTG)atBlackbaud is seekinganexperiencedScaled Agile Framework (SAFe)ScrumMaster withinits Portfolio Management Office (PMO). Thisrole willchampion the effective use of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)within engineering and development teamsas theysupportthecontinuous delivery of large-scale, cloud-basedsoftware solutionswithin a larger Agile Release Train (ART)Therole will focus on strengthening our agile project management discipline, while striving towards operational excellence and effective process management and adherence.

The desired candidateis well-versed and experienced with multiple delivery frameworks(SAFe, waterfall, etc.), with a focus on lean-agile delivery. Theyexhibit strongbusiness acumenand operational excellence;have exemplary communication and collaboration skills; and reliablydrive and support predictable and high-quality delivery acrossgeographically distributed,cross-functional teamsas theyrealizethe product visionandprovide value to the customer This personis a problem-solver at heartand will use theirexpertise in agile methodologies and practicesto tackle teams’ toughest challenges.They willhaveapassion forcoachingempowered, high-performingagileteams; driving a culture of continuous improvement; and delivering secure, valuable, and high-quality solutionsthat delight ourcustomers.

WhatYou’ll Do– ScrumMaster

  • Oversee overall delivery for2-3 agile developmentteams includingplanning, execution, dependency management, risk management, release management, and stakeholder management.

  • Facilitateagile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, iteration/sprint planning,iteration/sprint reviews, system demos,and iteration/sprint retrospectives.

  • Assistagile teams in identifying and managing/remediatingrisks, dependencies, and impediments.

  • Guide teams in the adoption, implementation, and maturation of SAFepractices, while supporting the overall SAFe transformation.

  • Supportthe Release Training Engineer (RTE) withplanning, coordination, and facilitation ofthe major events and ceremonies within SAFe, includingquarterlyPI Planning, System Demos,andInspect & Adapt Workshops.

  • Partner withyourteams’Product Ownersto ensurebacklogpriorities areadjudicated andthatconflicts are resolved prior to and throughout PI executionsoyour teamscan limitWork in Progress (WIP), drive quality, deliver ontheircommitments, and realize business value.

  • Manage and optimize the flow of value using tools like Miro, Azure DevOps (ADO),Dependency Charts,and Team Kanban

  • Resolve and escalateteam-levelimpediments,manageteam-level risks, and drive relentless improvement.

  • Foster asafe,collaborativeenvironment whereyourteams can deliver on commitments while feeling empowered to surface issues openly and honestly.

  • Ensure clear communication and alignment betweenagileteams,otherScrum Masters,productowners,engineers,UX, strategic content,Customer Success,and otherdependent teams(may include waterfall delivery teams and agile teams who do not live on the ART).

  • Gather data from multiple sources,synthesize metrics, generatekeyinsights, communicateteam-level data within the train and across the business.

  • Support the Release Train Engineer (RTE) and otherART leaderswith forecasting, resource allocation, and monitoring ofspend

WhatYou’ll Bring:

  • CertifiedSAFeScrum Master(SSM), Safe AdvanceScrum Master(SASM),SAFe Agilist(SA), orSAFe Practitioner(SP)preferred.

  • 5 years of related experience with aBachelor’sdegree; or 3 years and aMaster’sdegree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience required.

  • 2+ years acting in aScrum Masterrole while managingcloud-based softwaredevelopment, software programs, orother technical delivery.

  • Adept at organizing and leadingoutcomes-focusedplanning and problem-solving sessionswithin the context of an agile team

  • Ability to help teams delivercodethatissecure, highquality and highly operable at scale as part of aDevSecOpsculture.

  • Strongtechnical aptitude to driveaccountability andquality outcomes, whilefostering collaboration across product and engineeringfunctions

  • Experience leveraging, synthesizing, and clearly articulatingagile metricstogleaninsights onagile teamstatus and maturation

  • Experience working in anagileorganizationespeciallyScaled Agile Framework (SAFe), or other scalingmodel

  • Experience usingagile best practices(i.e., burndown charts,engagingretrospective formats, defect management,well-written User and Enable Stories, ATDD, TDD, BDD, CI/CD, automated testing, etc.).

  • Experience with Agile collaboration tools(e.g.,SharePoint, MicrosoftTeams,Azure DevOps, etc.)
