Job Description

Play a key role in launching new Amazon products such as Echo and Alexa-enabled devices, Fire TVs, Kindle eReaders, and Fire Tablets around the globe!

The Amazon Devices team is recruiting Program Managers to plan and execute product launches across Amazon global teams. This is an excellent opportunity to be a critical part of the innovation we deliver to delight our customers.

The right person for this role is highly capable of leading through influence across business, operations, and technology. You have a track record of delivering complex projects and have impressed your stakeholders with your ability to communicate both written and verbally. You have demonstrated problem solving capabilities across both technical and non-technical teams

Key job responsibilities
As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for working with different business owners and product managers across the organization to define the requirements and timelines for launching new products. You will lead cross-functional teams to define and/or execute technical and non-technical solutions to ensure our products are available for customers to buy online and at retailers, offering a great customer experience.

A day in the life
You will meet with launch stakeholders via Slack, video calls, tickets, and email to track progress towards launch milestones, unblock stalled progress, and pursue escalations. You will use automation to validate product/SKU status against policy and standards and directly correct as needed. You will audit processes and tools with an eye for improvement and automation.

About the team
We are mission control for new devices, we ensure Amazon Device customers have a seamless buying experience.
We orchestrate stakeholders with guidance, not mandate. We don’t own everything – We help clarify ownership, provide transparency, and remove roadblocks so everyone can deliver.
We drive a scalable approach to product launch processes: Standardization and consistency is critical to scale. We avoid implementing short term, Band-Aid solutions.
We look for opportunities to streamline the process and then automate. Our automation doesn’t introduce new manual work. Program Managers lead in areas that add-value.

About Amazon

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one.

Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world.

Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind.

You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.
