Program Manager MR Co-Creation

As a Program Manager within the MR Co-Creation team (part of the larger Clinical Science and Co-Creation organization within the MR R&D organization), you will lead end-to-end co-creation programs with clinical and research partners, translating unmet clinical, system, and workflow needs into validated innovation concepts and actionable R&D inputs.

This role combines deep collaboration with partners and strong program management discipline, ensuring that co-creation initiatives are planned, executed, and delivered in alignment with organizational objectives.

You will operate at the intersection of R&D and business, ensuring programs deliver measurable outcomes within defined scope, timelines, and resources, while contributing directly to product innovation and customer impact.

This role also includes interim functional leadership of the MR R&D Co-Creation Team (approximately 10 permanent and 12 flexible FTEs) through Q1 2027.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Co-Creation Program Ownership

  • Own the planning, execution, and delivery of MR co-creation programs.

  • Define and manage program objectives, success metrics, scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation and utilization.

  • Ensure delivery of programs within agreed scope, timelines, and resource constraints, aligned with organizational goals.

2. Partnership Engagement & Co-Creation Leadership

  • Drive structured collaboration with partners and hospitals, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and research collaborators.

  • Identify and prioritize high-value co-creation opportunities based on unmet needs.

  • Build and manage long-term partnerships, ensuring sustained collaboration and meaningful engagement.

3. Translation of Clinical, System, and Customer Insights into Innovation

  • Convert clinical and system-related observations and research insights into:

    • Prioritized problem statements and use cases.

    • Innovation hypotheses and solution concepts.

    • Actionable inputs for R&D and product development.

  • Drive development of:

    • Proof-of-concepts and prototypes.

    • Workflow and usability improvements.

  • Ensure traceability from unmet need → concept → R&D action → product impact.

4. Program Planning, Performance Monitoring & KPIs

  • Develop and implement detailed program plans, including:

    • Timelines.

    • Resource allocation.

    • Risk mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor program performance using defined KPIs, ensuring:

    • Progress tracking against milestones.

    • Early identification of risks and deviations.

  • Take corrective actions to keep programs on track and aligned with objectives.

5. Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Integration

  • Act as the primary interface between Co-Creation and internal stakeholders, including:

    • R&D.

    • Product Management.

    • Regulatory and Quality teams.

  • Act as the primary interface between Co-Creation and external stakeholders, including:

    • Collaboration partners, hospitals, and associated partnership interfaces.

    • Research collaborators and Principal Investigators.

    • Key Opinion Leaders.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment and decision-making.

  • Ensure co-creation outputs are integrated into R&D pipelines and product roadmaps.

  • Facilitate effective communication across stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

6. Governance, Risk & Dependency Management

  • Establish and manage program governance frameworks, including:

    • Decision-making forums.

    • Reporting cadence.

    • Progress-tracking mechanisms.

  • Identify and manage:

    • Risks and mitigation plans.

    • Dependencies across projects and programs.

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory and ethical requirements.

7. Benefit Realization & Outcome Delivery

  • Ensure co-creation initiatives deliver measurable outcomes, including:

    • Actionable R&D workstreams.

    • Validated innovation concepts.

    • Contributions to product and workflow improvements.

  • Manage scope, quality, and stakeholder expectations to ensure program benefits are realized.

  • Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders on:

    • Program performance.

    • Outcomes and impact.

8. Interim Functional Leadership

  • Coordinate the implementation of a long-term vision and strategy that maximizes future business value, aligns with current and future customer needs, and contributes to cross-organizational innovation projects.

  • Oversee departmental capabilities, ensuring the development and maintenance of required competencies and knowledge for introducing new technologies, alongside resource allocation, technology oversight, and knowledge enhancement.

  • Ensure an engaged, innovative, and inspiring work environment by motivating, challenging, and coaching employees, stimulating entrepreneurship, and driving engagement.

  • Ensure outstanding project execution by continuously refining project management practices to exceed customer expectations and drive operational excellence.

  • Manage talent across the team, including employee selection, performance management, compensation management, career development, and effective operational management.

You're the Right Fit If

  • You hold a Master's or PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Radiology, or a related discipline.

  • You bring 5+ years of experience in MR clinical research, R&D, product development, or program/project management within healthcare or MedTech environments.

  • You have strong knowledge of MR imaging technologies, clinical study methodologies, GCP, and regulatory frameworks, including FDA and CE requirements.

  • You have proven experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and external clinical collaborations within complex matrix organizations.

  • You combine strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, influencing communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Lean Six Sigma, PMP certification, or published MR research is considered a plus.

Success Measures

  • Initiation and delivery of co-creation programs within defined scope, timelines, and resource constraints.

  • Effective translation of clinical and system insights into R&D workstreams, innovation concepts, prototypes, and actionable development plans.

  • Adoption of co-creation outputs within product development programs.

  • Strength and continuity of research partnerships.

  • Established and effective program governance, stakeholder alignment, execution visibility, and communication cadence across programs.
