We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of the University of Queensland (UQ) program across Queensland.

This role is responsible for overseeing electrical construction and maintenance activities, ensuring contractual obligations are met, commercial outcomes are achieved, and work is delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

You'll provide leadership to operational teams, build strong client relationships, and drive continuous improvement across safety, performance and workforce capability.

About the Role

As Program Manager, you will be accountable for the overall performance of the UQ program, ensuring contractual, commercial and operational objectives are achieved.

You will lead the delivery of overhead and underground electrical construction and maintenance works while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity and customer outcomes. Working closely with field teams, clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, you will ensure resources are effectively planned and projects are delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe delivery of electrical construction and maintenance activities across the UQ program.
  • Build a strong safety culture while driving operational, financial and contract performance.
  • Plan and manage resources, budgets, forecasting and project delivery to achieve program outcomes.
  • Develop, coach and support field teams to build capability and maintain high performance.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

About You

You're a people-focused leader who knows how to get the best out of teams while keeping safety, delivery and customer outcomes front of mind. With a background in electrical construction, maintenance or utilities, you're comfortable balancing operational, commercial and client responsibilities and enjoy building strong relationships both in the field and in the office.

  • Experience leading teams in electrical construction, maintenance, utilities or infrastructure environments.
  • Proven leadership experience in roles such as Program Manager, Operations Manager, Construction Manager, Site Manager or similar.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets, forecasting, reporting and contract performance.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build capability, influence stakeholders and develop high-performing teams.
  • A current Driver's Licence and White Card, with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
