Repair and Exchange Program Manager

The S&OP Repair and Exchange Program Manager leads and manages the operations and execution aspects of capital parts and works cross-functionally with all organizations to support the corporate S&OP process. Supervises the development of budgets and schedules, manages performance, reports progress, and initiates action to assure program/project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget and according to specifications. Resolves problems and coordinates the final turnover of the project to the customer. Responsible for project turnover to the execution team and monitoring performance during that period of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the Gas Turbine Service– LTSA Programs organization in discussion with Orlando Service Center on the different frames technical issues that may have a commercial impact on MHPSA service business;
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the different engine frame configurations per customer within the LTSA and LTMA fleet. Ensure technical instructions are fully defined for subsequent implementation and execution of repair and modification services;
  • Understand the commercial impact to integrate engine frame component modifications prescribed by GTSE for either an individual customer engine or the fleet of common engine frames that capture financial impact to the Service Operations organization.
  • Communicate to the LTSA Programs frame specialist information specific to their frame responsibilities;
  • Represent the LTSA Programs in discussion with the Orlando Service Center shop in discussion of engine frame component repair;
  • Understand the commercial impact to repair engine frame components to return component to original geometry and operational integrity;
  • Provide to the LTSA Programs organization knowledge of repair cycle impact on component lifecycle;
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of engine component compatibility / interchangeability amongst the M501F fleet, M501G fleet, M501J fleet and non-OEM fleet serviced by the Orlando Service Center.
  • Provide support to LTSA program managers during customer outages when component as found condition is inconsistent with anticipated. Coordinate with Quality and Service Engineering for root cause analysis and assist implementation of corrective action to return engine to service;
  • Coordinate development of a system to effectively monitor and record the communication of technical information to our customers for their Mitsubishi equipment;
  • Coordinate resolution of configuration issues that arise on Mitsubishi supplied equipment and components;
  • Coordinate communication between MHI and MPW-A as required for LTSA technical and implementation issues;
  • Coordinate system information and process implementation that will improve MPW-A’s ability to understand desired unit and component configurations inclusive of engine specific Improvement Works directed by TGO;
  • Review detailed information packages prepared by either Orlando Service Center TES or Takasago engineering prior to implementing modifications and improvements to equipment and components serviced by MHPSA. Coordinate the transfer of information between MHPSA and MHI on commercial information required to implement the upgrades. Provide feedback to MHI on the status of the implementation on the MHPSA fleet;
  • Travel to customer facility locations as required for coordinating the implementation of corrective action subsequent to engineering investigation and resolution of technical and operational equipment issues;
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee’s working environment may be loud. The employee may be required to adhere to MPSA and customer safety procedures including but not limited to, the use of personal protection equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, goggles, hearing and fall protection).

Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline. A minimum of 8 years of experience with gas and steam turbine part types, applications, repair, and manufacture.
  • Knowledge of the purpose and limitations of parts within gas and steam turbines.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles. PMP certification is preferable, but not required.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial statements, technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures such as mean, standard deviation, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: medium to advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, data manipulation, analysis software. Microsoft Excel; SAP Navigation. MS Project or P6 experience preferrable, but not required.
