The Greater China R&D Office is looking for a dynamic and highly adaptable Program Manager to lead AI Safety Operations. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to ensure the seamless, safe, and compliant delivery of groundbreaking Apple Intelligence and AIML features in the region.

In this critical role, you will serve as the operational linchpin for our AI safety strategy. You will manage complex, cross-functional efforts that bridge Apple’s global engineering teams, strategic external partners, and regional regulatory frameworks. If you possess exceptional learning agility, thrive in dynamic environments, and excel at bringing order to complex technical and operational challenges, we want to hear from you.

Description

You will own the end-to-end operational readiness and ongoing risk mitigation strategies for AI features in Greater China. Your responsibilities will span across strategic planning, vendor operations, incident management, and regulatory compliance:

Safety Data & Guardrail Operations: Manage the operational lifecycle of AI safety assets.

Build and facilitate cross-functional emergency response committees to rapidly address social or regulatory escalations, ensuring swift risk mitigation and issue resolution.

Regulatory Agility & Compliance: Drive regulatory readiness initiatives. Support complex AI algorithm registration processes, manage post-launch regulatory engagement, and spearhead the development of comprehensive content safety handbooks.

Stakeholder Alignment: Facilitate excellent communication and provide multiple levels of status updates, bridging the gap between individual technical contributors, external partner teams, and Apple executive management.

Technically savvy with a background, experience, or strong demonstrable interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), or data acquisition.

Experience managing complex, strategic partnerships or external vendor operations (e.g., 24/7 monitoring teams).

MBA or advanced degree.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Operations, or related disciplines.

Experience: Proven track record in Engineering Project Management, Technical Program Management, or Operations Management within a fast-paced technology environment. Ability to execute tactical project-level activities while driving overarching strategic goals.

Cognitive Agility: Exceptional learning agility, analytical skills, and logical thinking. Ability to rapidly grasp complex technical architectures and evolving regulatory landscapes.

Communication: Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is mandatory. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Problem Solving: Self-motivated and proactive critical thinker who can embrace ambiguity, navigate global and complex organizations, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail under pressure.
