Your role:
As a Data & AI Solution Architect (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the data and AI strategy within the PLM Data Lake, ensuring its seamless integration into the new application landscape. In the course of this, you will develop concepts based on the requirements in the PLM Datalake as well as our AI backbone AI Foundry - and implement them in cooperation with the team.
You will work within an international team and in close cooperation with the product owners of the PLM applications. In your day-to-day work, you will be closely involved in the processes of the Scrum teams and ensure that excellent code assets and data products, among other things, are delivered.
We as a team are convinced: Good software is not created in PowerPoint, but in the development environment and in the professional discourse. Therefore, we expect secondary methodological competence and architectural understanding as well as sufficient hands-on development proximity to validate concepts and be able to critically review results.
Your tasks:
Datalake & Architecture
Responsible for the operation and further development of the PLM Data Lakehouse (Azure, Databricks, Delta Lake, KAFKA)
Design and implementation of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for large amounts of data
Introduction and implementation of governance, security and compliance standards
Development and deployment of new data products (Silver/Gold Layer) in the Unity Catalog
AI & Advanced Analytics
Development and integration of AI agent solutions, e.g. enable natural language for querying complex data sets
Close cooperation with PDM method teams for the creation of semantic data product descriptions and ontologies
Leverage Unity Catalog and Delta Lake to deliver secure, consistent, and AI-optimized data products for advanced analytics and AI applications
Product Ownership & Leadership
Overall responsibility for projects and product development in the area of PLM Data Lakehouse
Management of an international team (Germany, India and external partners)
Implementation of sprint and architecture reviews as well as ensuring sustainable further development
Innovation & Best Practices
Develop and establish best practices for data engineering and AI
Active participation in architecture boards and committees for the further development of the data and AI strategy
Driving innovation through the use of modern technologies (Databricks, Unity Catalog, MLOps, Generative AI)
Qualifications
What you bring with you
Professional qualifications:
Very good degree with IT content, e.g. Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science or a comparable qualification
Several years of experience with cloud data lakehouse architectures (Azure, Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog
Deep knowledge of Python, Spark/PySpark, SQL as well as data modeling and ETL development
Experience in AI/ML projects (Machine Learning, Generative AI, MLOps)
Understanding of AI-focused orchestration mechanisms and protocols such as MCP, A2A
