Job Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS

Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the development and implementation of individualized program plans for Supported Employment Individual Placement clients.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures quality in programs and contracts
  • Assists Program Director in the management of human and physical resources of assigned program
  • Gives input to decision making team regarding allocation and use of resources
  • Assists in maintaining expenses and revenue within budgetary guidelines
  • Supervises, schedules, evaluates and trains assigned staff
  • Provides counseling and acts as an advocate to clients and staff
  • Coordinates the development of and monitors progress of individualized client goals
  • Reports progress of client goals to the Program Director
  • Assists with job training when needed
  • Oversees contract placement and job development
  • Ensures components of intake through job placement are completed in a timely manner by Employment Specialists
  • Acts as Safety Representative for the office
  • Ensures a safe and healthy environment and compliance with all safety programs
  • Implements the Illness and Injury Prevention Program
  • Ensures files meet organization, funders, and licensing certifying agency standards
  • Establishes and maintains liaison with EXCEED programs, employment sites, funding agencies and significant others
  • Prepares reports of activities of the program
  • Prepares and ensures timely submission of monthly billing for services
  • Represents EXCEED at assigned meetings and events
  • Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Fully vaccinated-COVID-19 (with booster if eligible)
  • 21 years or older
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Acceptable driving record
  • State minimum required automobile insurance
  • Ability to develop objectives, evaluate physical, academic and psychological needs, and develop rapport with funding sources, staff and all other persons significant in client's welfare
  • Ability to do crisis intervention counseling
  • Possess a great deal of direct knowledge of programs dealing with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • English grammar and writing skills sufficient to do documentation and report preparation

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE cont

  • High school diploma
  • Prefer at least two (2) years college education
  • One (1) year of management experience at middle level preferred
  • Two (2) years experience in related field

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Dexterity sufficient to handle and create necessary reports
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and demonstrate sufficient balance to negotiate busy areas
  • Good vision and hearing to relate effectively to staff, clients and employers / contracts

MENTAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to interpret instructions, communicate to staff and develop and initiate programs and procedures based on these same instructions and/or other varied input
  • Ability to produce reports and summaries and understand the fundamentals of organization and time management
  • Ability to meet deadlines and ensure timely submission of information requested
  • Math skills to produce financial and production reports, purchases and cash
  • Professionalism and a demeanor of confidence are required

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

  • Reports to the Program Director

SUPERVISES

  • Case Managers
  • Vocational Trainers
  • Other staff as assigned

POSITION CLASSIFICATION

  • Exempt

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Regular flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet operational and program needs.

Supported Employment

Provides individual training and a combination of support services in community-based employment. This program enables clients to work independently and achieve and maintain employment in an integrated setting in the business community.

Adult Developmental Center

Provides basic living skills training, which assists clients in reaching their maximum level of independence, along with access and inclusion in the community. Our curriculum includes self-advocacy, mobility, money management, functional reading, basic academics, pre-work skills, writing, daily living skills, and personal growth and development.

Community Integrated Services

Provides community based person-centered services and individualized supports to assist clients in living quality lives as productive and active members of their community.

Exploration and Enrichment Services

Provides person-centered services that offer activities and training in daily living skills, employment readiness, functional skills development, self-advocacy, personal growth and maintenance of positive behaviors, and community access and inclusion.
