Job Description

Kela is a defense technology startup pioneering next-generation defense technology, from command & control software to complete field-deployed systems. We empower defense organizations with robust, scalable, and secure platforms that integrate diverse sensors and AI to deliver real-time battlefield intelligence. Backed by leading investors, Kela combines Israeli innovation with global mission impact.

We move faster than any defense startup you've worked at, and faster than most commercial ones. Prototypes go from sketch to metal in weeks, not quarters. If that pace sounds energizing rather than exhausting, keep reading.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be accountable for complex multidisciplinary programs spanning hardware, software, manufacturing, testing, and customer delivery. You'll turn program objectives into plans people actually execute, and you'll have built hardware before — production problems are something you recognize, not something you're told about.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Own program execution from contract award through design, integration, qualification, production, and fielding.
  • Translate program objectives into an executable plan connecting development, procurement, manufacturing, test, and customer milestones.
  • Identify the critical path, dependencies, and risks early; drive mitigations and escalate when needed.
  • Serve as the central coordination point between engineering, leadership, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Own program reviews, contractual deliverables, and customer submissions.
  • Track requirements, interfaces, and configuration baselines with engineering, and make sure verification and acceptance close.
  • Coordinate integration and test campaigns, and track production readiness with the manufacturing team.
  • Support proposals, SOWs, and future-phase planning.
  • Build structure, operating rhythms, and accountability across teams without slowing execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, a technical discipline, or business.
  • 5+ years in technical program or project management of complex hardware products.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing or production readiness.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary programs through hardware and software development, integration, and testing.
  • Experience with government customers, contracts, and formal deliverables.
  • Effective in fast-paced, low-structure environments.
  • Sufficient technical depth to engage effectively in discussions involving system architecture, interfaces, manufacturing, integration, verification, and qualification.
  • Excellent communication with engineers, executives, customers, and government stakeholders, both in Hebrew and in English.

Advantages

  • Delivered defense systems.
  • Experience taking a hardware product from prototype through qualification and into production.
  • Familiar with defense qualification, compliance documentation, and formal technical reviews.
  • Working knowledge of government contract structures.
  • Strong analytical skills; fluent with modern PM tools.
