Department Overview

The Supplier Diversity Department is responsible for the enterprise-wide development, implementation, and oversight of institutional supplier diversity strategy, governance, and operational infrastructure. The department partners across clinical and non-clinical operations to integrate supplier diversity requirements into organizational workflows, establish standardized operating procedures, develop performance metrics and accountability systems, and support compliance and executive reporting.

In addition to advancing equitable supplier participation and diverse spend performance, the department provides strategic guidance on policy development, governance integration, and program maturity improvements that strengthen institutional stewardship, operational consistency, and reputational integrity. Through cross-functional collaboration and system-level influence, the department drives sustainable supplier inclusion practices aligned with organizational goals and institutional accountability standards.

Function/Duties of Position

Enterprise Program Strategy & Execution

  • Leads enterprise execution of Director-established strategy by developing implementation plans, standardized operating procedures, and measurable performance goals that operationalize institutional supplier diversity objectives.
  • Develops annual program roadmaps, establishes KPIs, and ensures consistent application of supplier inclusion standards across procurement activities.
  • Exercises independent authority in managing timelines, prioritizing initiatives, and coordinating program execution.
  • Directs enterprise implementation of supplier diversity strategy and formulates management decisions necessary to operationalize program objectives across departments and operational units.

Policy Development and Governance Integration

  • Develops and advances institutional supplier inclusion policies and governance standards, preparing recommendations for Director and executive review and ensuring operational integration across procurement systems.
  • Embeds supplier diversity requirements into procurement workflows and governance processes.
  • Establishes monitoring mechanisms that support institutional accountability while operating within Director oversight.

Cross-Functional Implementation & Institutional Alignment

  • Designs and leads structured engagement pathways connecting procurement, finance, clinical departments, facilities, and operational leaders to supplier diversity initiatives.
  • Drives consistent integration of supplier inclusion requirements into departmental planning processes.
  • Serves as the enterprise lead and primary internal advisor on supplier diversity implementation, guiding operational leaders and departments in integrating supplier inclusion practices into procurement and planning processes.

Program Infrastructure & Capacity Building

  • Develops enterprise tools, templates, training frameworks, and communication standards that support consistent program execution.
  • Provides advanced subject matter expertise and consultative guidance to leaders and operational stakeholders without direct supervisory authority.

Continuous Improvement and Best Practice Implementation

  • Researches and implements supplier diversity best practices, staying current with industry trends, certification standards, and emerging strategies in healthcare supplier diversity.
  • Conducts program assessments, identifies gaps and opportunities, and designs strategic interventions that elevate program maturity.
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives, facilitates institutional learning from peer institutions, and drives innovation in supplier inclusion approaches.

Analytics, Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Oversees supplier diversity data infrastructure in collaboration with analytics teams.
  • Ensures data integrity, validates certification compliance, and prepares executive-level reporting that informs Director accountability to senior leadership and governance bodies.
  • Uses performance data to drive program refinement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, public administration, or related field required.
  • Three years of progressive experience in supplier diversity, procurement, program management, or related field required.
  • Strategic program management, Supplier Diversity expertise, and Stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, public administration, or related field required.
  • Five years managing supplier diversity programs or complex stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Healthcare or large institutional environment experience strongly preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD) or equivalent supplier diversity certification.

Additional Details

This position is remote with regular virtual engagement and occasional travel to supplier sites, community partner locations, conferences, and industry events.

Standard business hours with flexibility required for stakeholder meetings, community events, and occasional evening or weekend commitments.
