Job Description

  • Australian owned and operated, purpose driven work across Defence and national security

  • Values-led culture where people are trusted, supported and enjoy what they do

  • Ownership of delivery, commercial outcomes and client relationships

About the role

We have an internal opportunity for an experienced Program Manager to join our Nova MSP team. This is a senior program role where you’ll balance delivery outcomes and quality with strong governance, using internal project, risk and budget systems.

You will be known for building trusted client relationships while supporting the growth of the program through contribution to capture and bid activity.

You will shape how the program operates by allocating resources across projects, coordinating delivery to maximise value, and embedding continual improvement. You will lead the effective delivery of assigned projects within a defined scope, with clear accountability for client management, personnel leadership, and the profitable delivery and growth of services provided to contracted clients.

If you’re looking to join a company known for its culture, where you can make a real difference to portfolio delivery and client outcomes, this role offers that opportunity.

What you would be involved with

  • Leading program delivery to meet contract outcomes, quality expectations, and agreed strategic objectives
  • Owning program performance against budget, with a clear focus on commercially sound delivery and sustainable growth
  • Managing resources across projects, monitoring delivery, and driving continual improvement
  • Maintaining proactive client relationships and representing Nova in client and stakeholder forums
  • Leading business development activity for new and follow-on work, including contributing to capture and bid development
  • Providing people leadership (including hiring, performance management, feedback and recognition) to build capability and a high-performance culture
  • Ensuring effective governance using internal project, risk and budget systems, coordinating reporting (including finance and risk), and working with your General Manager to identify, assess and communicate risk

What we would like from you

  • Relevant Defence industry experience at a senior level, with an understanding of how Defence programs operate
  • Demonstrated ability to balance client outcomes with commercial performance
  • Strong stakeholder and client management experience, with proven ability to build and sustain trusted relationships
  • Ability to lead, manage and mentor employees
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex programs or projects
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining long-term relationships
  • Australian Citizenship with a current AGSVA NV1 security clearance, or the ability to obtain one
  • Ability to work on client sites and travel interstate as required
