Within the OEN/ Domain Observation and Navigation Italy, we are looking for :

Senior Project Manager

who will work as part of the Navigation, Galileo and Aerocomms Programs Dept based in Rome.

Permanent responsibility:

As part of Navigation, Galileo and Aerocomms Programs activities, he/she will be part of Navigation Export Programs department taking the responsibility of the Programs assigned to the department .

As Project Manager, he/she will be responsible to monitor and control cost, schedule and planning to ensure to reach the Programs objectives.

He/she will prepare, maintain and keep up to date the program schedule (master schedule) collecting and integrating the detailed contributions coming from the different parties involved (TAS internal and external).

He/she will also be responsible to prepare and drive the Monthly Progress Report meetings collecting and processing all the data relevant to the costs of the Program, reporting them to the Management.

It’s also part of the duties to work in collaboration with technical team defining short and medium activities planning highlighting risks and issues on the activities.

Contributing to the BIDs preparation assuring that all the Programmatic aspects are followed.

Task description:

As member of the Navigation Export Programs Team she/he shall be able:

Manage, monitor, and control Cost and Manpower planning activities, in particular:

o Perform cost monitoring and finance planning and control, ensuring the execution of financial cost control activities in accordance with the internal CFO procedures and the external accounting standards (ECSS, Management Requirements);

o Assess actual/budget/outlook figures for costs, sales, cash flow (Own share / Subco) and deviation analysis versus Master Schedule, MPP;

o Perform resources planning and control, ensuring resources availability (manpower, facilities etc.) in line with successful completion of internal and external scheduled milestones;

Support to Operations (Inventory Logistic, Export Control, Import/Export, Insurance)

Preparation of specific documentation required by Management, Customer, Financial Department (e.g. contribution to Weekly report, Monthly Progress Review, Quarterly Progress Report, Inventory Record, Key Performance Indicator Report)

Manage the preparation, monitoring, adaptations of plans and schedules in line with the Project constrains, interacting proactively with the teams

Contribute to the preparation of the statements of work for subcontracts

Interface with the TAS internal Department (e.g. CFO, Purchase, PECT team, Operation, etc.) needed to execute and monitor the Program

Directly monitor the Subcontractors, to ensure that all necessary project control and planning requirements in accordance with Program Plans are implemented in their activities;

Participate to all the program reviews, prepare, collect signatures and distribute the minutes of meeting

Distribute the action items to the relevant responsible(s) and track their closure within the due dates

Establish and maintain program office files, information dissemination systems and timely prepare and distribute the program progress reports;

Evaluate and anticipate schedule impacts

Skills/experience

Working experience in Space Programs

Working experience in a project management area

Working experience in international environment

Knowledge of GNSS-based navigation principles

Project planning/scheduling

Project Economics, Estimating & budgeting

Ability to work independently, autonomously and collaboratively within a team

Ability to work proactively with TAS Customer and subcontractors

Ability to relate to people to find information, share analysis results and facilitate "problem solving"

Availability to travel

Excellent ability to work by deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication

Good attitude at negotiation

Language: Fluent English and Italian, spoken and written

Personal requirements:

The ideal candidate will be driven, eager to learn and passionate for the field. Extensive experience in delivering to tight deadlines, while being comfortable managing different tasks is required.

Her/His prominent skill is Project planning/scheduling/Estimating & budgeting and flexibility to face different problems in heterogenic/multidisciplinary domains.

Critical and curious minded, he/she always uses a collaborative approach, helping to find shared solutions out-of-the-box.

He/she has a good grasp of satellite navigation, passionate about it and informed about current state of the art, evolutions and trends relevant to the Space industry. Strong technical writing ability and/or demonstrable experience in proposal authorship is appreciated.

The ideal candidate is familiar with and can apply measurement theory, statistics, informatics and physics.

Previous working experience in Navigation domain (Galileo and EGNOS project) is considered a plus.

University Engineer degree ( preferably Electronic/Telecommunication/Space/Software), or Physics .
