Function

Within the Large Projects division, you will work specifically on the prestigious Princess Elisabeth Island (PEI) project, where your work will have a tangible and meaningful impact. You will be part of a team of Program Management Officers (PMOs) and specialists in schedule management and risk management

As a Program Management Officer (PMO), you will play a key role in managing one of Belgium’s most innovative infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on budget management, schedule management, risk management, and the overall coordination of the PMO project team.

Within the program management framework, you will functionally report to the Program Manager (PM), who holds ultimate responsibility for the infrastructure program. You will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and technical experts.

An important part of your role will be coordinating the experts within the team. You will organize and lead follow-up meetings focused on priorities and current challenges. During these sessions, you will provide structure and oversight, foster collaboration, and help the team identify and resolve bottlenecks, enabling everyone to contribute effectively and efficiently to the program’s progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain, and improve a program management framework, including standards for program controls such as budget management, schedule management, risk management, and reporting;
  • Support the definition and management of scope, schedule, and budget baselines, ensuring consistency across all program domains;
  • Consolidate budget estimates and cost plans, including risk provisions, while providing visibility on developments and trends;
  • Facilitate risk management by proactively anticipating issues and working with the team to implement timely corrective actions when needed;
  • Facilitate schedule management, including coordinating the development of an integrated program schedule;
  • Develop and manage program reporting for management and governance bodies;
  • Ensure traceability between program objectives, baselines, progress, and decision-making;
  • Coordinate the PMO experts within the team, monitor priorities and bottlenecks, and promote constructive collaboration.

Additionally, across the various programs, you will support the PMO Team Lead in developing and ensuring a consistent methodology and approach across the different infrastructure programs within the Large Projects division.

Your Profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree in a financial or technical field (e.g., Business Engineering);
  • You possess strong organizational skills, are results-oriented, and can motivate others;
  • You thrive in a team environment and make an impact through your positive and collaborative attitude;Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects or CAPEX projects is considered an asset;
  • You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • You are a team player and can perform effectively under pressure;
  • You are proactive, solution-oriented, and not intimidated by challenges;You are able to set priorities and act accordingly;Knowledge of planning tools (Primavera P6, SAP), reporting tools (Power BI), and risk management methodologies is considered an advantage;
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch, with a solid working knowledge of French;
  • Preferably, you have completed PMI/PMP training or possess at least 5 years of relevant project management experience.
