Job Description

The Director of School Age Childcare maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals, promotes the potential of all youth, and provides a quality experience to both youth and their families. This position will be responsible for the oversite of the School Age Childcare Programs, to include in and out of school time. Under the direction of the Regional Director, the Director will supervise all employees and volunteers as well as have administrative duties and operational functions to include daily program hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervision:
a. Oversee the operations of school age childcare sites and no school day programming
b. Model Y-USA’s Best Practices in order to offer the highest quality programming
c. Ensure that all sites meet state guidelines for childcare licensing and that all sites are license compliant
d. Responsible for direct program support to site directors and their staff, including but not limited to, program implementation, behavior management and best practices at sites
e. Create staff schedules- daily & weekly

2. Leadership of Employees & Volunteers:
a. Collaborate with regional director to recruit, hire and onboard program staff
b. Oversee Employee Onboarding tracker to ensure staff are completing trainings, fingerprinting and paperwork necessary to enter program as staff
c. Provide specific orientations related to childcare and provide opportunities for staff to train and further develop their professional needs
d. Supervise, evaluate and provide feedback to site directors about their sites, program and licensing needs
e. Conduct regular staff meetings with site directors weekly, all site staff monthly and assure effective communication with staff, to promote support for problem solving, program development, family engagement, etc.

3. Administrative:
a. Responsible for assisting with the development and monitoring of all department budgets
b. Making necessary adjustments based on actual enrollment vs budgeted enrollment
c. Budget Forecasting
d. Monthly Budget Variance Reports
e. Manage Accounts Receivable with the support of the Childcare Registrar and Finance Dept.
f. Oversee timesheets and time off for staff

4. Equipment & Supplies:
a. Ordering of equipment, supplies and materials for sites
b. Ensure quality control over equipment and supplies at sites
c. Support site directors in maintaining accurate inventory of supplies and equipment, including but not limited to program supplies, snack and first aid kit

5. Relationship Building & Facilitation:
a. Support enrollment efforts
b. Represent and promote the Y in the local community by developing positive working and collaborative relationships with all key school personnel and families
c. Actively participate in local community groups supporting school age childcare

6. Training & Development:
a. Ensure that all site staff attend all required trainings and are cleared to start before entering program
b. Attend required trainings and maintain current professional development hours per CCLU
c. Support Director of Compliance in ensuring that employees are current with certifications
d. Provide leadership development opportunities for employees
e. Develop self as a cause-driven leader in the organization
f. Serve as an active participant on the Child Care Quality Circle and other association wide committees as assigned

We're looking for someone who has:
• Qualifications that meet NH Child Care Licensing requirements for a Site Coordinator
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a licensed childcare setting
• 5+ years of experience working with young children
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• A passion for school aged childhood out of school time care and family engagement
