Job Description
We are seeking an accomplished Program Director to lead a strategic Global Account engagement within Microsoft Industry Solutions Delivery in Germany. This Level 64 role owns the end-to-end success of a complex, high-profile transformation program and provides continuity of leadership across customer outcomes, executive relationships, delivery performance, commercial health and long-term value realization.
This is a senior leadership position, not a coordination role. The Program Director sets the executive agenda and governance model, shapes the transformation roadmap, leads Microsoft, customer and partner teams through ambiguity, makes timely trade-offs and ensures that strategy translates into adoption, cloud consumption and measurable business value.
Responsibilities
Customer and Executive Leadership
- Serve as the senior, trusted delivery and transformation advisor to Client C-suite leaders and Microsoft executives. Maintain sustained executive presence, align ambition and accountabilities, frame choices clearly and build confidence throughout complex or sensitive moments.
- Lead high-quality executive communications, including concise program narratives, health reporting, decision papers, recommendations and escalations. Apply sound judgement and political sensitivity to anticipate stakeholder reactions, resolve concerns and protect the long-term customer relationship.
Program and Delivery Leadership
- Own end-to-end program outcomes across scope, schedule, investment, quality, risk, dependencies, adoption, cloud consumption and measurable business value. Establish clarity on outcomes, delivery strategy, milestones and accountabilities, and intervene early when performance or confidence is at risk.
- Translate Clients strategy into an executable transformation roadmap that connects AI and cloud opportunities, industry context, organizational change, engineering delivery, adoption and continuous improvement. Orchestrate cross-functional, global and virtual teams across the Client, Microsoft account leadership, sales, architects, engineers, consultants, Customer Success and partners.
Governance, Commercial and Risk Leadership
- Establish an executive governance model with clear decision rights, outcome metrics, milestones, financial controls, RAID discipline and decisive escalation paths. Provide accurate
- executive-level signals on program health, forecast, capacity, dependencies, consumption and value realization.
- Lead or materially shape pre-sales and deal development for strategic work, including outcome definition, delivery strategy, statements of work, estimates, assumptions, dependencies, resourcing and commercial risk. Maintain disciplined control of delivery economics, burn rate, scope, forecast implications and financial performance.
Transformation Quality and Practice Leadership
- Ensure delivery meets Microsoft standards for responsible AI, security, compliance, engineering quality, customer trust and operational readiness. Anticipate delivery, stakeholder, adoption and commercial risks, and make timely interventions with clear options and recommendations.
- Create a One Microsoft experience by connecting organizational units and identifying opportunities to expand customer value and business impact. Coach project and program leaders, share lessons learned and contribute reusable methods, governance patterns and intellectual property that strengthen the wider delivery practice.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of professional experience in consulting, enterprise technology delivery, digital transformation or a related field.
- At least 5 years of direct project and program management experience, including senior accountability for large, complex and high-value transformation programs.
- A strong track record of successful delivery, demonstrated through measurable customer outcomes, executive trust, disciplined governance, healthy commercial performance and sustained business value.
- Proven international experience leading cross-border, global or virtual programs and collaborating effectively across different countries, time zones, organizational cultures and working styles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead global teams and create clarity, inclusion and accountability in matrixed environments involving customer, partner and Microsoft stakeholders.
- Exceptional executive communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity, influence senior stakeholders, communicate difficult messages constructively and present clear decisions and recommendations.
- Fluent German and English business communication skills for executive discussions, governance forums, written reporting and international collaboration.
- Strong command of program governance, RAID management, financial tracking, forecasting, scope control, dependency management and executive escalation.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience, together with strong ownership, resilience and the ability to operate independently with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering Microsoft platform-related programs across Azure, Data and AI, Security, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform or broader cloud transformation.

Consulting Project Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across Germany is € 117,400.00 - € 252,500.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
