What’s the role?

The role sits in Transaction Banking Technology, providing end-to-end technology services and delivery in Deposits, Cards and Card Payments, and the origination and servicing of deposit accounts. This includes a complex technology estate spanning core banking platforms, payments processing, channels and downstream servicing capabilities.

As Program Director, you will lead delivery of a portfolio of strategic change initiatives within the Group’s UNITE transformation program—an enterprise-wide, multi-year business and technology simplification agenda. You will be accountable for end-to-end execution of a Debit Cards transformation program and provide portfolio leadership across Transaction Banking, ensuring disciplined delivery, strong governance, and measurable outcomes that reduce complexity, improve customer and colleague experience, and strengthen resilience.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver Portfolio Outcomes - Own and lead end-to-end execution of the UNITE strategy for Debit Cards ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, on budget and to quality and orchestrate interdependencies across programs to maximise synergy, minimise duplication and maintain consistency in approach, governance and delivery standards and portfolio level.
  • Lead and scale high-performing delivery teams - Design and oversee fit-for-purpose program structures, delivery cadences and souring models.
  • Strengthen delivery governance, risk and financial control: Proactively identify, quantify and resolve delivery risks and issues that threaten outcomes


What do I need?
To be successful in this role, you will have prior experience in a similar level role, you should be able to lead with clarity, pace and empathy and be able to build strong partnerships across business and Technology. In addition to this, you will also be able to communicate simply and credibly at all levels.
Other skills and experiences required include:

  • Demonstrated success leading large scale, multi-year transformation programs within banking technology
  • Strong delivery discipline
  • Executive stakeholder management
  • Ability to translate strategy into executable plans and measurable benefits
  • It's highly advantageous to have deep domain knowledge across transaction banking, debit, credit cards and payments, including core banking and card payments ecosystems
