Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in capital cost control, project controls, or construction financial management.
  • 3 years of experience managing cost, estimation, or financial controls specifically within data centers or mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience utilizing Project Management Information System (PMIS) platforms (e.g., e-Builder, Procore, or Unifier) and enterprise financial tools (e.g., SAP or Oracle) to manage project tracking.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in advanced estimating, including creating should-cost, parametric, and bottoms-up baseline models from early-stage design concepts.
  • Excellence of financial control methodologies, including CSI coding, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and budget variance/reconciliation analysis.
  • Deep technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to accurately price and audit massive electrical (UPS, generators) and cooling systems.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, handle complex construction contracts/change orders, and present defensible budgets to executive funding committees.
  • Advanced spreadsheet software modeling skills with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) with understanding of how AI tools increase productivity in data center cost management.

You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As the Program Cost and Controls Manager, you will be responsible for leading and executing complex cost programs across major technical initiatives. You will serve as the controls process and tooling owner and the key resource for regional cost reporting and in-depth search cost management support for the program's projects. A core function of this role is the development and support of the capital plan and the generation of essential commercial and financial reports, ensuring outcomes align with strategic organizational objectives. You will leverage deep technical knowledge to make critical business tradeoffs and build trusted relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to drive continuous performance improvement.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,000-$237,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Initiate, lead, and manage complex cost programs with long-term implications, defining project metrics and success criteria to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Develop, review, and maintain the capital plan for the program, including producing the monthly commercial report and quarterly submissions of the accrual position.
  • Create project cash flow and spend breakdowns within PMT, establishing clear site progress reporting mechanisms for cost variance, standard CPIs, and EAC strategy.
  • Apply deep technical knowledge and understanding of engineering/construction challenges to make sound business tradeoffs and optimize control processes across the organization.
