Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Contract

Reports To: PDEL Program Manager

Position Summary

American Councils seeks a dynamic and highly organized Program Coordinator to support implementation of the Public Diplomacy English Language (PDEL) Program for Regional Teaching Leaders. The Program Coordinator will oversee participant recruitment and selection, coordinate logistics for a three-week residential Teacher Leadership Institute in Bishkek, manage communication and engagement with participants and mentors throughout the project, monitor participant progress, and provide regular reports and updates to the Program Manager. The position serves as the primary in-country point of contact for participants, mentors, trainers, and local partners and plays a key role in ensuring successful delivery of program activities across all phases of the project

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate outreach and recruitment activities in Batken, Naryn, and Bishkek/Chui regions.
• Assist the Program Manager with the application process.
• Coordinate travel, accommodation, meals, and local transportation for participants during the Teacher Leadership Institute in Bishkek (November 2026).
• Manage participant registration, attendance tracking, and daily program operations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for participants during the residential training.
• Coordinate and support U.S. Government alumni mentors and other volunteer mentors throughout the program.
• Maintain regular communication with mentors and participants during implementation of the Teacher Leadership Practicum and Community of Practice.
• Monitor completion of mentoring activities, participant milestones, and program deliverables.
• Organize monthly check-ins, virtual meetings, and Community of Practice activities.
• Collect attendance data, participant updates, mentoring records, and program documentation.
• Monitor participant progress and milestone completion.
• Support preparation of quarterly and final program reports.
• Coordinate collection of photos, success stories, testimonials, and program achievements for reporting and communications purposes.
• Maintain regular communication with participants, mentors, trainers, and partners.
• Assist with social media and program visibility activities.
• Support financial tracking, procurement, and administrative documentation as required.
• Perform other duties necessary to ensure successful program implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience coordinating educational, youth, exchange, or professional development programs.
• Demonstrated experience managing events, training programs, participant logistics, and travel arrangements.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Experience working with educators, youth, volunteers, or international programs preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong reporting, data management, and administrative skills.
• Professional proficiency in English and Kyrgyz and/or Russian.
• Ability to travel within Kyrgyzstan as needed.
