PLNU is seeking an organized, collaborative, and student-focused Program Coordinator to support the launch and ongoing operations of the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at the Mission Valley Campus in San Diego. This role provides essential administrative, operational, and logistical support across student services, practicum coordination, scheduling, events, accreditation, and faculty support while helping foster a welcoming and mission-centered learning environment for students, faculty, and community partners.
Pay Range: $24.90 – $26.89 per hour
Actual salary offered is determined by the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and other factors, including internal equity and university funding resources.

What You’ll Be Doing
Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support for the Master of Social Work program and the Field Director
Support course scheduling processes in collaboration with faculty, Records, and the Program Director
Assist with maintaining accuracy of program courses and academic information within Workday and related systems
Coordinate course waitlists, substitutions, and exception processes while supporting long-range scheduling needs
Maintain practicum and field education documentation and support compliance tracking processes
Assist with student internship placements, site onboarding, faculty liaison logistics, and practicum-related events and orientations
Support recruitment initiatives, onboarding activities, and student-centered engagement events
Coordinate administrative support for faculty recruiting, adjunct onboarding, and student worker processes
Plan and support program events including orientations, gatherings, conferences, and student engagement activities
Assist with assessment reporting, accreditation support, and data collection processes
Collaborate with Admissions, Marketing, and campus partners to support program communications and social media engagement
Generate reports and queries using Workday and other systems to support operational needs
Assist with budget tracking, purchasing, scholarship coordination, and financial recordkeeping
Facilitate communication and collaboration across campus departments and community partners
Provide general administrative support including scheduling, calendar management, purchasing, travel coordination, meeting support, and facilities requests
Deliver high-quality customer service to students, faculty, staff, guests, and community stakeholders
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
One or more years of administrative work experience
Proficient in Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Chat, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides), Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), and Workday
Ability to compose written materials using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and format
Strong organizational skills, dependability in follow-through, adaptability, and ability to take initiative, work independently, make decisions, handle stress, and maintain confidentiality
Competent multitasking skills required, including the ability to maintain workflow despite frequent interruptions
Excellent interpersonal skills to relate to students, faculty, staff, donors, alumni, and community partners with an affable and flexible disposition
Willingness to support and enthusiastically engage with people from diverse walks of life
Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant

Desired Qualifications
Degree in social work, business, or related field
Two or more years of administrative work experience, preferably in higher education
Experience coordinating groups, schedules, events, tasks, and physical spaces
Proficiency in Google and Mac products, Workday, Coursedog, Canva, and related systems
Demonstrated understanding of social media and current trends
Familiarity with AI tools and willingness to learn and apply emerging technologies in the workplace
Ability to quickly learn and assist in implementation of new software and systems
Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and collaborative teamwork skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit comfortably for periods greater than one hour
Use of computer equipment including keyboard, mouse, and monitor
Vision to read digital and paper documents, including detailed spreadsheets and correspondence
Mobility to move between buildings supporting the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences
