PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organizing, and implementing programs and evaluating activities and outcomes within a specific program area, supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)

Prepare Youth for Success

  • Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Promote and encourage program participation;
  • Provide guidance and role modeling to members;
  • Maintain a safe and respectful environment.

Program Development and Implementation

  • Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for youth, with a focus on members ages 5-12.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans.
  • Complete mandatory reports accurately and provide documentation to supervisor as requested.
  • Assist in the recruitment of members as needed to reach program goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure Club and child safety, quality programs, and good appearance of the Club at all times. Track and assess outcomes through periodic activity reports.

Supervision

  • Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
  • Ensure a productive work environment by participating in assigned staff meetings.
  • Responsible for taking a leadership role in the Program Director’s absence.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May coordinate and participate in special programs and/or events.
  • Support club administrative duties.
  • Keep equipment and supplies in good working condition.
  • May consult with parents concerning member and club issues.
  • Other related tasks may be assigned, based on the needs of the Club and the supervisor’s request.

Qualifications: SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Four-year degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or a combination of education/equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of experience working with youth ages 5 – 18 years old.
  • Knowledge of youth development.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
  • Ability to deal with the general public.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications within 90 days of hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to continuously stand, walk, or sit. Ability to function for more than two hours on your feet. Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently. Will be working in a Club environment with children. Ability to be outdoors during all seasons occasionally.
