A Glimpse of the Job
The Program Coordinator I supports the coordination and implementation of the first-year experience (FYEX) program. Under general supervision, this role assists with course logistics, student outreach, and program operations that promote student transition, engagement, and academic success. This position collaborates with campus partners, instructors, and peer mentors to ensure effective delivery of FYEX curriculum and programming.
Essential Duties/Tasks:
Program Coordination and Delivery
Assists in coordinating FYEX course operations, including scheduling, section tracking, and classroom logistics.
Assists in planning, design and implementation of the FYEX curriculum by preparing materials, coordinating content distribution, and assisting instructors.
Coordinates first-year experience programs, events, workshops and initiatives (e.g., workshops, engagement activities, transition programs, etc.)
Assists with learning management system (Canvas) updates and course organization.
Responds to inquiries from students, instructors, and campus partners regarding FYE programming.
Student Outreach and Engagement
Supports outreach campaigns tied to program participation, engagement, and key academic milestones.
Assists in facilitating or coordinating presentations, workshops, and classroom visits.
Encourages student participation in FYEX and related programming.
Provides general guidance to students by connecting them with campus resources (referrals).
Program Operations and Data Support
Maintains program records including enrollment, attendance, participation, and engagement data.
Assists with tracking course compliance (e.g., participation reporting, course completion metrics, etc.)
Compiles basic program reports and summaries for assessment and improvements.
Supports material preparation and tracking for FYE programming.
Instructor, Peer Support, and Other
Assists in coordinating communication with FYEX instructors and student employees.
Supports training logistics, material preparation, and scheduling for instructional teams.
Directly supervises student employees assigned to the first-year experience program including coordinating work, monitoring performance, and ensuring alignment with course/program needs.
Approves student employee time/schedule in accordance with program operations.
Helps ensure instructors and student employees have resources and information needed for FYEX programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary:$48,500 annually

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Verbal and written communication skills.
