Program Coordinator - The Kirby Institute

• Employment Type: Part - time (14 hours a week)
• Duration: 1-year Fixed Term contract
• Remuneration $92,265 base pro-rata, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading
• Work rights required: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.

Details of the role

The Program Co-ordinator provides effective day-to-day administrative support within the Kirby Institute to ensure all services are provided efficiently to meet the operating needs of the Immunovirology and Pathogenesis Program Additionally, the Program Co-ordinator will support the H2Seq genomics in public health research project.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a leading health research environment by providing high-level administrative and project support across a dynamic research program. Working closely with researchers, project leads and a broad range of stakeholders, you will play a key role in coordinating meetings and events, managing financial and administrative processes, maintaining systems and records, and supporting project delivery. Success in this role will require strong organisational skills, excellent communication, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. The role reports to the Head of the Immunovirology and Pathogenesis Program and has no direct reports.

Some key skills required:

• At least two years relevant experience gained through any combination of education, training and employment.
• Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
• Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience providing effective support to colleagues or clients at all levels.
• Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with financial reconciliation, purchase tracking and associated software packages e.g. Concur.
• Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
