About the position:
The KWY Kinship Care Program assesses, trains, advocates and supports both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Kinship Carers who care for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and young people who have been placed with family by the Department for Child Protection (DCP). The program aims for children and young people to feel safe and supported, we do this by supporting Kinship Carers to connect children to their Culture, Kinship system, Community and Identity,
empowering them to reach their full potential.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing direct support and clinical expertise
to Practitioners within the Kinship Care Program. The Program Coordinator is a highly skilled and experienced worker with dedicated and proven leadership skills who can demonstrate a high level understanding of complex case management.
You will work closely with the Senior Manager and Director on assessing and allocating Kinship
Support and Assessment referrals, meeting contractual and internal KPI’s, contributing to reporting, including reporting any emerging issues and trends.

The successful applicant will possess extensive skills, experience, and knowledge to support Aboriginal children and young people in the Out of Home Care sector. The applicant will be highly driven with previous case management experience in the field of Child Protection and Out of Home Care with a minimum of 5 years of experience in this sector. The applicant will have demonstrated
experience in working with Aboriginal families, as well as Aboriginal organisations and Communities.
