Position Purpose summary:
This position is a part of a collaborative management team and provides day-to-day supervision of program staff, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and customer service
excellence to meet the needs of shelter clients in a housing focus holistic manner in accordance withpolicies and procedures.
This is a Part-Time position with 16 hours per week (subject to change) flexibility in scheduling is required.
The work schedule is determined in consultation with your manager and may vary according to therequirements of responsibility. Applicable shifts include a half hour unpaid meal break.
Shifts: Saturday and Sunday 11:00am to 7:00pm
Accountabilities:
Service Responsibilities:
Serve as a member of the management team as relevant and required, particularly as it pertains to dayto-day delivery of servic.
Provide oversight and supervision of Program Staff and the day-to-day operations in accordance with the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
Ensure that duties assigned are completed in an appropriate, safe, and efficient manner bythe completion of their respective shifts.
Has input and may participate in the hiring, orientating, and evaluating of staff and students.
During shift, provide support and supervision of staff and assist with crisis intervention, diffusing conflict and problem solving as required to ensure the safety of residents and staff; responds initially to client grievances.
Responsible for completing the scheduling of staff to ensure coverage for all vacant shifts, including sick relief, statutory holidays, and vacation coverage.
Chair daily shift changes to ensure proper transmission of information from one shift toanother and keep records of daily shift change reports.
Monitor and review program staff communication logs to ensure proper documentation andcommunication between shifts.
Identify staff training requirements and make recommendations regarding staff development for those supervised.
Fully participate in Hamilton Booth Centre’s Harm Reduction Program including but not limited to: providing safer supply to residents, client centered support and education

This position is considered a management position for the purposes of the Employment Standards Act of Ontario and as such is not covered by various ESA Rules, including but not limited to those related to
hours of work, daily and weekly rest periods and overtime compensation.

The target hiring range for this position is $58,531.20 to $73,174.40 with amaximum of $87,817.60.
