About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary part-time Program Clerk - General to join our dynamic Collections Operations East team.

The Collections Operations East team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by providing administrative support to all program activities within the Collections team. You will provide this support in accordance with all regulations, standards and good manufacturing practices.

Formula for success

  • Leveraging your excellent customer service skills, you will provide program support for the Supply Chain and other departments as assigned.
  • Drawing on your knowledge or experience in records management, you will provide support including packing/shipping/retrieval of offsite records.
  • Utilizing your strong attention to detail you will perform timekeeping/payroll functions, as well as data entry and database maintenance, maintain accurate records and filling.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of a secondary school program
  • Minimum of two years of recent related office or administrative experience
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers within a Windows NT operating system. Intermediate skill level required, using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, being able to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion when dealing with others
  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, in English are required
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships within a team environment as well as with departmental staff, management, volunteers and customers
  • Excellent customer service skills are critical, including effective listening skills and the ability to respond effectively
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, being able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities within short timelines
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail in all aspects of work

What you can expect

  • Shifts are Monday and Thursday: 0800 to 1230; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 1130-1600. Shifts are subject to change based on operational needs.
  • Physical requirements - ability to lift weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).
