JOB SUMMARY:

The Chair, MSN Program is responsible for helping to plan, organize, supervise and ensure the success of the MSN Program at American Sentinel College.

This position is instrumental in managing the MSN program. The Chair works with the Assistant Dean, of American Sentinel College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The Chair contributes to the advancement of Post University’s mission and principles and the goals of the MSN program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise the MSN program to ensure that students and graduates meet the academic program standards and faculty teaching in these programs provide a good learning experience for students.
  • Recruit, train and monitor online faculty.
  • Assess and evaluate the MSN program and student outcomes.
  • Review end-of-course evaluations and recommend curricular improvements and faculty training.
  • Devise timelines and effective measures of the MSN program so there is prompt review, revision, and development of courses within the programs.
  • Assist with the assignment of faculty to courses for the MSN program.
  • Assess and evaluate the MSN program and student outcomes.
  • Work with student advising.
  • Delegate course review and revisions to full-time or adjunct faculty.
  • Ensure the MSN program adheres to best practices of online instruction.
  • Monitor current and emerging trends in nursing.
  • Provide oversight for innovative development and curricular content
  • Participate in programmatic, institution and regional accreditation activities to ensure the programs meets and exceeds all accreditation standards.
  • Serve on nursing and University committees as assigned.
  • Teach courses as assigned
  • Other administrative duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master of Science degree in nursing degree required; a doctoral degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university is required..
  • At least 5 years of clinical and administrative nursing experience; experience teaching in an online environment; experience in an administrative role in a nursing academic setting and an unencumbered Registered Nurse License.
  • Experience teaching online, developing curriculum and knowledge of online instructional best practices required
