The mission of the Mayor's Office of Housing (MOH) is to make Boston a more equitable and inclusive city where all residents can thrive. MOH oversees programs that create and preserve affordable housing, support homeowners and renters, provide housing and services to homeless individuals and families, and develop city-owned property. The Mayor's Office of Housing seeks to carry out its mission through a lens of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion and addressing the effects of systemic racism in our city.
The Boston Home Center (BHC) helps Boston residents purchase, improve, and keep their homes. The BHC offers training, financial help, and counseling to first-time homebuyers, guidance and funding for homeowners for home improvements, and counseling to help families avoid foreclosure. The BHC also markets homes developed for income-eligible, first-time homebuyers.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director or designee, the Program Assistant will provide administrative services to BHC's programs, projects, and operations. The Program Assistant will divide their time between the BHC's main location (currently 2 Center Plaza) and BHC's 26 Central Avenue, Hyde Park office.

Public service is a noble calling: to help others, to make our communities stronger, and to uphold the public trust.
As city employees, we see the results of our hard work in our own community— in street and infrastructure improvements, new buildings rising from the ground, safer and more prosperous neighborhoods, and happier, healthier children, families, and senior citizens.
We may all come from different backgrounds, but we are connected through our passion for service.
What we do at work today, and everyday, shapes the Boston of tomorrow.
