Job Description

In this role, you'll:

  • Play a critical role as Program Architect within one of our major transformation programs, you will lead the end-to-end program architecture to support the new fleet of regional trains. This includes both adapting existing platforms and introducing entirely new applications, some being delivered for the first time in our network.
  • Drive end to end program architecture across a diverse program in relevance to architecture development, defining scope, modelling systems, analysing requirements and planning implementations in support of business objectives to enable the business to become operationally efficient and effective.
  • Translate business practices and processes into architectures to enable delivery of appropriate solutions through strategic investments.
  • Provide guidance and direction for design and implementation of development frameworks and design patterns for consumption across multiple development teams to deliver the strategic agenda.
  • Deliver architectural guidance and oversight, ensuring strategic planning and governance that facilitate successful technology implementation across the program.
  • Ensure seamless coordination across TfNSW teams, program streams, and external partners to meet critical program milestones.

This is a fixed term full time opportunity up to June 2027 | Attendance at Burwood home office Thursdays and Macquarie Park every Wednesdays with flexible work practices.

About you


You’re a highly disciplined, hands on program architect with a proven track record delivering large, technically complex programs, ideally across transport, technology infrastructure, or multi application integration environments.


You thrive in fast paced environments and know how to deliver outcomes that matter. You’ll be part of a team shaping the future of transport, helping deliver a modern, efficient, and safe rail system that connects communities across the state. You bring:


• Strong technical literacy across Technology systems, data flows, infrastructure, and integration dependencies.


• Demonstrated experience in managing program level architecture across complex programs, with diverse solutions.


• Excellent problem solving, analytical and highly developed communications skills.


• Hands on approach, driving program outcomes.


• Advanced stakeholder engagement skills across senior executives, engineers, vendors, operations, and frontline teams.


• Excellent communication skills, able to translate complexity into clarity at both strategic and operational levels.
