Description & Requirements

Opportunity Snapshot

The purpose of the role is to own and evolve the end-to-end Program Architecture for the Health Insurance Capability Modernisation Program, and ensure architectural intent is translated into coherent delivery decisions, solution designs and transition outcomes. Reporting to the Enterprise Architect for Health Insurance, this role provides the program-level architectural leadership needed to own the architecture for Capability Modernisation, close material gaps in current artefacts, and ensure coherent delivery decisions, transition outcomes and alignment to the broader Health Insurance target state.

What you’ll need to make it possible

  • Significant experience as a Program Architect, Enterprise Architect or senior architecture leader in large transformation programs, either in consulting or embedded roles.
  • Experience owning, developing and maintaining end-to-end program architecture across business process, functional placement, application, data, integration and transition layers.
  • Strong experience in architecture optioning, impact assessment, transition sequencing and decision support for complex multi-workstream programs.
  • Ability to identify gaps in immature artefacts and quickly produce fit-for-purpose views, decisions and recommendations.
  • Experience working with enterprise architecture leadership to translate target-state direction into executable program architecture.
  • Experience in health insurance, claims or similarly regulated environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and judgement in matrix and multi-vendor environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior business and technology stakeholders, frame options clearly, and broker practical outcomes across competing priorities. Commercial acumen in the context of program shaping and delivery, including the ability to assess trade offs across time, cost, risk, quality and strategic fit.
  • Experience working in organisations undergoing significant strategic and operating model change, with the judgement to stabilise ambiguity and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Strong situational analysis, structured problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Manages complexity: Synthesises cross-capability issues, isolates the core problem, and frames practical options and trade-offs.
  • Future thinking: Connects immediate program decisions to longer-term Health Insurance target-state direction.
  • Business insight: Links architecture choices to business outcomes, risk, sequencing and delivery feasibility. Effective decision-making: Brings clarity to ambiguous issues and drives timely, well-grounded decisions.
  • Ensures accountability: Creates clarity on ownership, dependencies, decisions and follow-through.
