Job Description

You’re a creative leader with a curious and open mindset. You’re not afraid to forge new paths, find new ways of doing things and share your learnings.

If finding complex technological solutions is your game, we've got the team for you. You're going to help us create seamless operations that result in efficiency for millions of customers.

In this role, you'll:

Join a high-impact environment where you’ll play a central role in shaping and guiding large, complex programs. If you enjoy seeing the bigger picture while ensuring all the moving parts come together, this could be a great fit. In this role, you’ll provide architectural leadership and governance to ensure business strategy, processes, data, and technology solutions are all aligned and working toward clear outcomes. You’ll develop and maintain a holistic, program-level architecture that links business goals with real delivery, making sure every workstream stays aligned with the broader objectives and requirements.

Acting as a senior authority, you’ll ensure that current and future ICT needs are met through secure, scalable, and sustainable solutions, all while aligning with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations. You’ll translate business strategies and requirements into practical architecture designs that enable both technology delivery and process transformation. Along the way, you’ll oversee solution design, integration, and delivery across multiple platforms and vendors, ensuring consistency and quality.

You’ll also play an important role in managing risk, dependencies, and trade-offs, including shaping migration strategies and resolving architectural challenges across programs. Your input will support strategic planning and investment decisions, contributing to business cases, roadmaps, and prioritisation. In addition, you’ll guide teams on frameworks, design patterns, and emerging technologies, helping drive consistency and innovation. Just as importantly, you’ll engage and influence stakeholders, clearly communicating decisions and uplifting capability across teams to ensure successful program outcomes.

About you

If you’re someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity and influencing how large programs come together, this role could be exactly what you’re looking for. You’ll bring strong SAP experience, along with a solid understanding of rail systems, and use that knowledge to drive architecture and design thinking across major programs. A big part of your role will be making sure everything lines up—ensuring program-level alignment, maintaining architectural consistency, and managing dependencies across teams so that delivery stays on track and outcomes are achieved.

You’ll be confident providing architectural leadership, guiding key decisions, and engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Your ability to balance governance with practical delivery will be critical, especially when it comes to security, risk, and working within government environments. You’ll also have a sharp focus on performance and scalability, ensuring solutions are built to last and can grow with the organisation’s needs.

Your experience in enterprise architecture, including data and solution domains, will help you understand cross-domain impacts and how decisions in one area affect the bigger picture. You’ll be comfortable operating at a senior level, offering clear, authoritative advice and navigating complex program environments. Alongside this, your strengths in systems and business analysis will allow you to identify risks, opportunities, and transformation impacts early.

You’ll also bring a solid understanding of cloud and “as-a-service” models, including migration approaches in large environments. Most importantly, you’ll be able to explain complex ideas in a clear, relatable way—helping both technical and non-technical stakeholders understand decisions, trade-offs, and risks, and ultimately driving better outcomes across the program.
