Program and Research Manager

Sustainability, Climate, and Geopolitics Program

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a renowned international affairs institution, seeks a full-time Program and Research Manager for its Washington DC-based Sustainability, Climate, and Geopolitics program. Carnegie's Sustainability, Climate, and Geopolitics (SCG) program explores how climate change and the responses to it are changing international politics, global governance, and world security.

This position will report to the Program Director and serve as the primary liaison for research coordination, convening, and administrative matters of the SCG program by providing thorough and timely communication and operational support. Major pillars of responsibility will include playing a key role in developing, tracking and managing the program budget; assisting with fundraising-related research, monitoring grant obligations and reporting, and tracking the program's research outputs and impact indicators.. This role will serve as the primary point of contact between the research program and key operational departments, support research dissemination, and help coordinate research cooperation both within the Climate program and with other Carnegie research programs. The position will supervise an administrative support staff member.

Position requires an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 4-5 years of work experience in program administration. A background in issues related to Climate policy is a plus. The selected candidate will have a demonstrated track record of excellent program administration, including budget management, proposal development, and grant writing and reporting.

The position, which includes generous health insurance benefits, will be based in Dupont Circle, Washington D.C. The anticipated salary range is $80,000 – 85,000. Please apply via the Carnegie Endowment website.
