Texas A&M University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy is looking for a Program Aide to support technical research efforts. In this role, the Program Aide will establish and fully validate a test‑stand system consisting of a VME crate with custom VME‑compatible FPGA electronics boards and auxiliary components, enabling a realistic emulation of the TAMU‑built OTMB electronics board used in the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
Opportunities to Contribute
Establish a test-stand system for use in the CMS experiment.
Fully validate the test-stand system to enable a fully realistic emulation of the TAMU-built OTMB electronics board.
Qualifications
PhD in Physics.
Familiarity and experience working with the VME-based electronics, working knowledge of C/C++, python, MS Office tools, Linux, firmware programming tools for FPGAs, experience testing and debugging electronics, knowledge of statistics for comparison of datasets, experience with data processing and analysis.
A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Salary: $12.00 per hour
