Job Description

We are seeking a Program Advocate at Voices Against Violence who is responsible for providing direct support and advocacy services to survivors, working within our shelter program, and coordinating services with other systems alongside the advocacy team. This role will provide backup for each of our primary services: including hotline support, outreach, legal advocacy, family support, and general advocacy.

At Voices Against Violence, we believe everyone deserves to live free from violence and abuse. For more than 40 years, we have worked to empower survivors, educate communities, and prevent sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking through direct services, community education, advocacy, and systems change.

Salary $26.96 - $28.61 per hour

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a Human Service field, (Social Work, Counseling…) or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired.
  • A highly motivated and responsible individual with the ability to relate to a wide variety of people in a non-judgmental, positive and competent manner.
  • Treat others with dignity and respect regardless of differences based on race ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, religion, culture, class or age.
  • Willingness and ability to work independently during overnight or weekend shifts.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and access to reliable transportation and willingness and ability to travel within the CVOEO service area.
  • Ability to uphold safety standards.
