
Provide day to day oversight of the Master of Arts in Yoga Studies program. This will include the development, administration, and supervision of LMU's Yoga Studies programs, including supervision of the elective certificate programs. Oversee the application and enrollment process, the disbursement of financial aid, and academic advising of graduate students. Also manage communications for the program and be the central outreach person for foundation and government grants, national and international.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Advise Yoga Studies graduate students on the certificate program. This will involve getting to know students’ interests and making constructive recommendations, particularly in the area of matching the needs and interests of individual students with certificate programs. Organize and maintain the academic documentation of graduate students enrolled in the degree program as well as information regarding program alumni. (20%).
Direct the internal and external communications strategy, initiatives, projects, processes and procedures for the Yoga Studies Program. Conceive, write, edit and produce advertising and marketing strategies. This includes delivery of social media outreach, advertisements, announcements, listings, fliers, brochures, press releases, oversight of the website and mailing lists, and speaking internally and externally about the programs. Develop and oversee web based communication strategies that promote Yoga Studies activities and faculty and students. (15%)
Serve as liaison with the Graduate Admissions, Registrar, and Financial Aid Offices on all matters relevant to the application, enrollment, and current standing of students in the degree and certificate programs. Resolve all non-routine issues. (15%)
Conceptualize and oversee Yoga Studies activities for students and community members in consultation with faculty. These may include but not be limited to Yoga Day, lectures, conferences, retreats, concerts, and spring dinner for graduating students. This will require working knowledge of the community of Yoga scholars and practitioners regionally, nationally, and internationally. (15%)
Communicate with donors, foundations, and government agencies. Will represent Yoga Studies at Foundation retreats and will play an active, creative role in seeking research grants for students and faculty. Will be involved with all aspects of the grant process, from conceptualization to application to disbursement of funds to writing required reports on outcomes. This work will be conducted in conjunction with students, faculty, development officers, and the sponsored projects team. (15%)
Oversee the work of four Yoga Studies graduate assistants and supervise their work in support of faculty research, special events such as conferences and lectures and concerts, and the videotaping of lectures for live streaming and archiving. (5%)
Represent Yoga Studies programs at professional organizations and association meetings. As the visible “face” of Yoga Studies, the Program Administrator will be required to travel to conferences and other meetings for recruitment purposes. (5%)
Perform ongoing assessment of Yoga Studies programs following university requirements. In addition to collecting and compiling data, this position will evaluate and assess the results and make recommendations on the findings. This will require facilitation of interface between faculty and the LMU Office of Assessment. (5%)
Manage budgets in collaboration with the Program Director and the Yoga Studies administrative assistant. This will include monitoring grant funded programs in addition to the operating budget. (5%)

Requisite Qualifications
Typically a Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, health related fields, or business. Master’s degree preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform required tasks.
Minimum four years of progressively responsible experience in higher education program coordination and student advisement or equivalent. Preferred e xperience and knowledge of classical and/or modern Yoga.
Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of academic guidelines, admission, recruitment, and retention practices for graduate higher education programs.
Experience in advertising and marketing.
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information. Skilled in proofreading and editing practices.
Highly developed organizational and analytic skills.
Demonstrated computer competency and preferably advanced knowledge of word processing formatting for high-level research publications and knowledge of database management and qualitative research software.
