Social Housing is responsible for the administration of the City's social housing and affordable housing post-development programs and services including the Centralized Waitlist, Asset Management and Capital Planning to assess the social and affordable housing portfolio and develop initiatives to support long term asset viability, Rent Supplement programs with private landlords to provide affordable accommodation to eligible low and moderate-income households, Housing Allowance program to qualifying low income households, as well as developing, implementing and evaluating housing policy to address municipal requirements.
You are responsible for: facilitating the implementation of policies, procedures and best practices related to both social and affordable housing programs (post development) by providing advice, guidance and direction to local housing providers on procedures, property management, maintenance standards, budgets, and service agreements to ensure effective administration and management of social and affordable housing units; monitoring same for compliance with guidelines and procedures; monitoring relevant aspects of the coordinated access and wait list system for housing assistance programs; participating in the internal review judicial process; performing operational/financial reviews/audits and liaising with housing boards, other government agencies, community and social agencies and members of the public.
Completion of 4 year university degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Planning, Commerce or related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in property management, program administration or a related area
Experience in administrating Social Housing Programs is desirable
Experience in Public Speaking is considered an asset
