The Grant Business Manager is responsible for developing and managing program and contractual budgets; coordinating grant and contract application and reporting processes; and supporting the preparation, editing, and submission of proposals, renewals, and required reports for funding from federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as other public and private funders. This role serves as a key project manager for the organization’s grants lifecycle, maintaining a centralized tracking system for submissions, renewals, compliance requirements, and reporting deadlines to ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Develop program and contractual budgets, narrative components, and supporting documentation for funding applications.
- Maintains a deadline tracking system to coordinate and support the submission of grant and contract applications, renewals, and required reports.
- Monitor ongoing grant and contract obligations to ensure compliance with funder requirements.
- Monitor budget variances and ensure expenses align with allowable costs and funding guidelines.
- Support financial reporting and prepare documentation required for audits and funder reviews.
- Support Program Directors and Vice Presidents in the preparation, submission, review, and evaluation of government and sponsored funding opportunities.
- Partner with Program Directors and Vice Presidents to create and manage budgets for grants, contracts and annual agency budgets.
- Reviews and understands RFP/RFA/NOFA/NOFO and all application requirements.
- Manages and communicates the grant application process for Senior Vice President, including development of application timelines, check lists, task assignments, etc. to ensure smooth application process and correct budget development.
- Attends required grant and funding conferences and trainings both in person and via webinar and disseminates information to Senior Vice President for review and application decisions.
- Assist program staff with collecting required data, documentation, and attachments for applications and reports from internal departments, agency records, and online sources.
- Partner with Quality and Compliance department when contracts are awarded to ensure contracts are reviewed, approved, and requirements are understood by grant-related staff.
- Maintains accounts, login-ins, and passwords for various government grant-related portals (Grant Solutions, E-grants, Grants.gov, etc.) and follows Agency and government entity policies regarding account security.
- Runs reports off agency databases and supports staff with grant compliance and the submission of reports through online portals when necessary.
- Supports Program Directors and Vice Presidents in utilize online postings, email lists, and grant databases to seek out and research new public funding opportunities from all levels of government (City, County, State, Federal)
- Review and assess public funding opportunities for alignment with application requirements, agency priorities, mission and Catholic principles, and facilitate cross-functional review meetings with senior leadership and relevant department.
- Facilitate meetings to develop, review and oversee ongoing budget compliance with Senior Vice President, Vice Presidents and Finance as necessary to ensure accuracy.
- Maintains positive relationships and communication with government and other funding agencies via email and phone as required.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in grant writing, grant management and budget development.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
