Job Description

The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a term faculty appointment for academic year 2016-2017. Rank will be dependent on experience and stature in the field. The appointment is a 9-month term position and will commence on August 29, 2016.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Cellular and/or Molecular Biology, or a closely related biomedical field. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in general biology as well as select upper level biology courses. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach, advise, and mentor students and has demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in School and University activities and service.
